Early on Papakura Auto Electrical gained a reputation for custom tuning factory ECU's and performance upgrades. The need for a specialist became apparent and following the purchase of a rolling road dyno from Australia and the securing of the Unichip agency, Richard set up Auckland Performance Tuning in 2002.

NZ V8 Supertourers

Richard Brooks and Jason Swan mapped out the electrical system for the NZ V8 Supertourers which are all specified with a bespoke wiring loom manufactured by the team at APT.

As well as quality Hella accessories the cars are also specified with two Hella LED lamps, the rear mounted rain light and a green dash mounted LED lamp to indicate the principal driver is in the car.

Ashley Forest Rallysprint - June 2014

A successful weekend with Matt Summerfield coming first and Steve Murphy second, both driving the 600 horse power Mitsubihi Cordia, tuned by Jason Swan.  To date the most successful car at Ashley Forest, winning more events than any other vehicle.

Bosch Jetronic Cup 1995 - 1997

In addition to PAE competing in the Bosch Jetronic Cup, Jason Swan was selected as one of the top ten technicians in Australasia and then went on to take third place in the hands on and technical test in Australia.

Suzuki Hayabusa - World Speed Record

The world record setting turbo charged 1300cc Suzuki Hayabusa was tuned by Jason Swan at APT. Ridden by Richard Assen, it set the Federation Internationale De Motocyclisme (FIM) world record for an open class motorcycle and fastest overall sit down motorcycle with a speed of 420.429 kmph or 261.243 mph on the famed Bonneville Salt Flats in 2011.
